New Media Investment Group Inc. and Gannett Co., Inc. have announced the expected members of the board of directors for the combined company, effective upon completion of the proposed acquisition of Gannett by New Media.
The board will have nine members, including Michael Reed as chairman, five independent directors from New Media, and three directors from Gannett.

Southern Newspapers Inc. has named a new publisher in Lufkin, Texas. Dolph Tillotson, president of Southern Newspapers, said the paper's new publisher is an experienced newspaper man who has run newspapers that are similar in size and mission to The Lufkin Daily News.
