An exciting summer is coming in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, as SCS/SN1 welcomes aboard eight bright minds for software development internships, shattering the previous record of five. The internships began on Wednesday, May 15, and will run throughout the summer. SCS has had major success with the program in past years, resulting in the creation of a new data visualization company, SN1.
Throughout the eventful summer of 2024, the interns will work on applications for SCS and SN1, spending time at both offices to gain experience with a start-up as well as with an established company. The various projects at SCS will focus on enhancing the company’s existing publishing applications, including AI integration. At SN1, the work will consist of enhancing the Skeyenet products, Mass Data Analysis and Predictive Analysis, and adapting these systems to the VR Meta Quest world.
These interns represent six different Pennsylvania colleges (Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania, East Stroudsburg University, Kutztown University, Lafayette College, Millersville University and Moravian University) and one high school (Southern Lehigh High School). They will be led and mentored by developers Ambrose Cavalier, Ethan Hartley and Winter Goodman, all of whom are products of SCS’s internship program.
In addition to advancing their software development skills this summer, the interns will also be honing their talents in other areas, including chess, backgammon, poker and pickleball.
