Editor and Publisher has hired media veteran Peter Conti as its new general manager for E&P magazine and its assorted digital platforms.
“I am excited to join the E&P family,” stated Conti. “Mike Blinder and I have been friends for many years and his revitalization of the publication along with a new website, the new interactive DataBook and daily emails makes E&P the go-to information source for publishers, editors and also offers great exposure for its advertisers.”
Conti has been engaged in traditional and online business start-ups for more than 20 years. After selling a retail business in late 1996, he began work in Richmond, Virginia, on one of the first ecommerce marketplaces for a 1,000+ member local merchants association. Conti joined Landmark Communications Inc. in 1998 to develop and manage the highly successful Richmond.com website. He has also served as the director of interactive media for Media General's Publishing division with shared responsibility for the online convergence effort of publishing and broadcast sites. Conti was an EVP/partner at Borrell Associates and the sales & marketing director at the Local Media Association. The last two years he worked as a business development manager at Site Impact.
Conti has been an adjunct professor at Virginia Commonwealth University's School of Business teaching Global Internet Marketing.
He attended the International Studies program at the University of Lund, Sweden, and holds a bachelor's degree in Radio, TV & Film from the University of Maryland.
