Veteran newsroom leader and Auburn University alumna Paige Windsor has been named executive editor of the Montgomery Advertiser, as well as the Alabama state editor for parent company Gannett, a job that includes oversight of the Gadsden Times and the Tuscaloosa News.

Until last year, Windsor was the news director and senior director of content at another Gannett-owned paper, the Des Moines (Iowa) Register, where she managed a team more than 60 reporters, editors and producers. She currently leads Better Homes & Gardens’ digital team as the executive editor of BHG.com.

She succeeds former Montgomery Advertiser executive editor Bro Krift, who left in February to take over as senior news director of the Indianapolis Star, one of Gannett’s five largest properties.
